The Camp Wright Tree
The “Camp Wright Tree” is an impressive red oak that stood on the beautiful 140 acre Kent Island property “Camp Wright” for over 100 years. Undoubtedly it saw many generations of campers, including Ten Eyck Brewery’s own Nicki. Ten Eyck is a must stop in Wye Mills, MD and the Ten Eyck bar is hewn from the “Camp Wright Tree”. After it fell, we were honored to have the opportunity to bring it to our sawmill. Luke and his father, Butch, collected the tree on October 21, 2014. It was so large it had to be cut into multiple pieces to haul. It has a special place in our hearts as it is one of the last existing trees Luke and his Dad hauled together. David milled the tree in February of 2015 and in 2020, David and Luke crafted the Ten Eyck bar. Be sure to visit Ten Eyck to check out the beautiful bar and their amazing brews.
